
In a foreign port on the Mediterranean Sea, a steamer with soldiers is preparing to sail. Fernana, a crane operator, persuades the captain not to take the ship out of the port. During the night, a fire breaks out on the ship. Fernana is arrested and sent to prison. Twelve-year-old Anita, the sister of the arrested woman, decides to avenge Fernana. On the walls of houses and on the sides of departing ships, doves drawn by her appear. Anita becomes a participant and a symbol of the struggle for peace...
